I am waiting on gearing to come for these transmissions as well. I would think that if the clutches can hold 400hp/tq then they are just stating it in a general sense. Nobody has even stated anything else for the rest of the transmission componets and their max capability. The moment someone touches this trans is the moment our warranty is out the window and I dont want to be without a car cause I got excited to have some other shop install these without experience. If I bought this I would drive to SSP and have them do it.

i wonder if anyone will ever figure out what the difference is between MR and the RA sst trans. since the MR guys are able to hold a bit more power then us on the stock units.

need to hire some nerds to crack the TCU i think

I'm just waiting for a RA to come through the shop that needs the SST tables tweaked. I have the same tables in beta as the MR has.

Bryan I would love to be the test mule but driving down to cali from canada would likely result in my wife divorcing me and my employer to fire me.

So when should i come down?

jk of course. theres gotta be someone on here in cali thats willing.

There is a local that is collecting parts for a Evo 10 turbo swap so he should be in shortly.

I've been kicking around the idea of purchasing a sportback as well but it might not be the year for me to do it.

Bryan as soon as you have that beta sorted out you should offer it out like you did with the base map .

I want these clutches though. TheSin said that the 500HP are out and they are also tinkering with the TCU. I called it last year and we should be seeing some good progress this year for the SST. My only real concern is who the hell do i go to install these things

I think you have to send in the TCU to SSP for reprogramming when you're installing their clutch pack. This is just what I've heard.

I was on works website and it said that they reccomend that you get the clutchpacks installed at their facility. This brings me to the question that if shops such as AMS or anyone becomes a supplier for SSP's product beside SSP itself, could we get it installed at those shops? As most of us know Mitsubishi will not open the transmission unless they have a mechanic qualified to deal with it, most likely not the case as they will just send it back and swap a new one.

Seeing that Chicago is closer than California, I am more willing to head to AMS to get an install if they were able and willing to do the install in the future.

^ good point Japan. That would be the idea thing, since i am in FL how would i be able to go to Cali especially if the car is my DD. It would be better for local shops to be able to do the installation and gearing programming. If something was to go wrong i can't jus go clear across the country to get it fixed.

We need SSP and/or Works to comment on this.

I found a shop about 3 hours away that carries SSP clutch pack and they said they would install the 400hp kit for like $ 1500 and would take 2 days about.

I also just got another quote for them for the 400hp kit, SSP Front Mount Trans Cooler Package w/Deep Pan, Evo X Turbo Set Up (minus turbo, Told them I would take care of it) and all the labor for everything would be about $6500, Addition $300 if I go with the 500hp kit.
