Good Idea or Bad? My little Project
So I talked with my tuner and he said that I should just go big with a FP Green instead of buying a used EVO X turbo.
He said he was going to do the following:
-Downpipe
-Intake
-Intercooler piping
-EVO X Turbo (400$) vs. FP GREEN (1700$)
-Tune
-Install
and he said 3k for the Evo X job and mayb just under 5k for the FP Green.
Def need some of your guys opinions cause I mean he said it's either like 290whp vs 350 whp difference.

Also, don't waste your money on a down-pipe unless your new turbo requires it or if you plan to do the full exhaust job.
If you are going to dump the money on an FP Green turbo, you should also upgrade the intercooler. The OEM X intercooler still becomes heatsoaked fairly quick with the X turbo. There is a thread floating around somewhere that has a comparison.
Another thing to consider is your transmission. There are a couple RAs rolling around with 320+TQ however this seems to be about the limit without also upgrading the clutches. An X turbo will put you right about that limit anyways so why waste money on the FP green unless it spools quicker or something of that nature (not familiar with the FP green).
I'd also get a HFC or Test pipe as the stock cat is pretty restrictive. The rest of the exhaust components are up to your discretion but again if I were you I would just buy the parts and be done rather than spend all this time and money and not achieve what you want and have to redo it or have regrets.
I'd first figure out what you want to achieve. Is it 300 whp / 300 lb tq, a 12.5 quarter mile, etc. Figure out what you want, and research what you need to get you there and to be reliable. Theres no point in wasting money and going big to get 360whp (just throwing out a number) if you can't put that to the ground.

Honestly, I have no goal in mind. I just want to beat Evo's and have a reliable car. Another problem is now I can't get that stock X turbo but the guy is willing to selling me a FP green for 50% off and then comes into question my clutch. The tuner at Magnus said he had a Ralliart at 350 wHP with the FPGreen which worries me cause I mean when all is said and done. I Just want a "poor man's evo". So I mean if it benefits me in the long run to get a Bigger Intercooler the the X. Then I will do it. Also if it benefits me to grab a better Intercooler then fine. Because the way I see it is I am saving like 800 bucks on a fp green and I was ganna spend 300 on a Intercooler why not just throw 1100 into the intercooler/clutch package ( I know it's alot more). Once I'm done with the Exhaust/turbo/Intercooler swap I'm done. Next is sound system and Carbon fiber for me.
P.S The FP Green apparently spools Hella fast

The EVO X intercooler (+ UICP) will help with maintaining your boost and your reliability.
All that can be installed by yourself using very basic tools

Before you do anything I think you should atleast figure out what you want or you are just going to be throwing money at things you may or may not need.
A drop-in filter, and GST tune will make a world of difference for ~$50. Grab an X Intercooler and UICP sometime and swap that out. After that you can go from there. Unless you want to go all out right away then go for it but I would do lots of research aside from listening to your tuner before you do anything to get what you want and make sure your not getting ripped off. Waiting around and finding a good deal on an X turbo on these forums could save you a decent amount of $$$.
