Yep, you have a choice of one base map... 98RON.

When you fill up, use BP Ultimate 98 or equivalent... which is 98RON.

edit: ...which is what you should be doing anyway, as per the sticker on the fuel filler cap, the instructions in the manual, etc. etc.

So it's all really easy!

so I read the stock rom from my ecu and it seemed to work. I saved it, but when I went to open it ecu flash says "ecuflash could not recognize this ROM image using the current definitions". Before doing this I downloaded the 2011 usdm definition from the goldenevo website and installed it the rommetadata/mitsubishi/evo folder. So I am trying to understand why I am not able to see any info from it. I am trying to make sure I have the stock ROM saved before loading the GST Basemap.

Going to guess your ROM id is not 56940007. Seems some of the newer 2011 have a newer ROM id. Go to the goldenevo site and use the rom identifier, then rename the 56940007.xml file to match what it tells you. This will at least show you the tables etc. But you should be safe to flash your rom as long as you have saved your stock rom in 5 different places, can never be too safe. Attached it to a post if you want us to take a peak at it to make sure your stock rom is fine.

here is the stock rom I pulled off the ecu, I went to the goldenevo site and I think I found what you were talking about. I loaded my rom and it gave me a different number, I renamed the old with the new but still did not show anything when loading the stock rom?

Looks like you got 56940010. Now go to golden and download 56940007.xml. Save it to the ecuflash folder, subfolder lancer. Now rename the file so it is 56940010.xml. Then it will show up in ecuflash. Also, compared it to another stock 56940010 rom and yours is identical, no differences at all.

Yeah thats what I got when i went ti goldenevonwebsite, only difference is I have it saved under the evo folder, when i did change it under that folder it still did not work. I will try it under the lancer folder. But you are saying that is my correct stock rom right? Just want to be sure before overwriting it with gst basemap. Im just starting out in all of this.

Yup, yours is identical to another 56940010 rom that someone sent to me. So you are good to go. Make sure the file has the xml extension and yes put it in the lancer folder here C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\lanc er...make sure you restart ecuflash first, so it can find the new rom metadata.

Ok I am sure that what I have is my stock rom, but I did everything you mentioned and still I cannot get Ecuflash to open the rom. I noticed one thing dont know if it makes a difference. You said put the file in C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\lanc er.. well in my directory I have a lancer folder but not a lanc er... I dont think this a typo because I have seen it on other posts as well. Do you think this could be giving me the issue of not being able to open up my stock rom. Also should I delete the other xml file for the 2011 ralliart, and just use the once you posted? thanks for the help, I really want to figure all of this out.

Also do I need to just rename the xml file, or do I have to go into the xml file and change the rom id? if so where do I change it at inside the xml file?

Alright just figured it out. I opened the xml file in notepad and changed to the rom id inside the file, I tried just renaming the file but that didnt work. After changing the rom id inside notepad I saved it again and replaced the one inside the lancer folder and I was able to open up my stock rom in ecuflash. So now I feel completely comfortable loading up the GST Basemap. Thanks for you help TurtleRA you gave me enough info to get me on the right track. Now to let the fun begin!!

Well I am glad the ecuflash stars aligned and it worked. You will need the non modified 56940007.xml rom id definitions from goldenevo so you can open up the GST basemap. In the canadian 2011 rom id thread, Rich posted the code you can use to direct the 56940010.xml to look for the 56940007.xml. Don't worry, I think everyone has the same issue as you, takes a while to figure it out, but once you do everything is easy.

I'll go make a 56940010 definition on goldenevocom. Perhaps just a cut-down place-holder, but it will do the trick for allowing people to "reflash to stock" without xml hacking.
