missed shift??
missed shift??
when im driving around town i leave my car in sport auto with asc on...the other day i was cruising at about 25mph the transmission was in second gear(auto) and the engine was at about 3k...i went WOT just having some fun...the car down shifted to first the rpm's climbed but it missed the shift back to second...the car hit fuel cut,did that jerking thing it does and then slammed into second...i can get it to happen every time under the above circumstances
is it just my car that is doing this or is it normal??? any help would be great!!
thanks

think this has something to do with the ecu learning curve, im not sure how often you go wot, but whenever I reflash I notice I have to ease it in a bit for a while to prevent the exact the same thing. Also, b/c your in canada, maybe the cold weather has slowed shift speeds? So maybe the ecu needs time to adapt to the colder temps with regards to timing of shifts...
but then again, I probably dont know what the hell im talking about!

However I don't really know why colder temperatures would affect shift timing (to the extent of allowing the engine to redline without shifting in automatic mode). Maybe someone could elaborate?
