i understand all of that, trust me. i'm strictly speaking of the turbo itself. i'm not asking for advice or lessons, either, i understand the possible consequences when modifying my car, i work on them daily, i'm only asking for opinions since i have yet to completely test my theory since i'm still in the process of proving my point (my car stock turbo peaking at 27 tapering to 20, daily driven).

my question is based on the fact that everybody asks how much boost is safe to run, when i personally believe, all other things accounted for, the turbo will have no issues running as much boost as it can make for as long as you like. again, though, this includes accounting for proper maintenance to the turbo, bearings, seals, etc. . if you just crank up the boost and leave everything else as-is, of course ****'s gonna break, but otherwise, i don't see why you couldnt just run what you like for as long as you like

i dont believe for a second that you hold 20 psi at 6500-7000 rpm.

There is simply no way.

what tool are you using to measure boost?

Alright. This is

But dammit, you guys with the RA 12sec avatars...you confuse the HELL out of me when I'm quickly glancing through all the posts and there are multiple 12sec avatars from different people.

That being said, carry on.

As Westbound said, I really doubt you can keep such a high pressure with the stock turbo. The flow of this turbo is simply too low.

If you want to only talk about the turbo, if you have appropriate maintenance, the only thing I could see is that you might need stronger turbo internals to resist the higher stress on the parts.

this is being measured on the dyno (i don't trust in-car gauges for instantaneous results, more of an overall idea). i'll find the graph for you if i still have it. otherwise, i'm going back for a retune this spring and will get it then, although i do realize that's quite a wait to prove such a point as this

This site has easily the most tolerant members of anywhere that I have seen. Westbound is rightfully irritated.

Compared to other forums this one has some pretty mild and helpful members. Probably why I have stuck around.

The problem that we run into is younger vs. older members. It is inevitable that teens and 20 somethings, who are just getting into cars, will ask meaningless questions to seem as if they know something. This is alarming to those of us who have been around for awhile. On other forums, this kind of thing would merely just get deleted.

or turn into a flame war that never gets moderated...

IMO, this forum/site seems to have the best balance between moderation and freedom to speak one's mind...
