no way! just downshift first with the paddles, or to get the car to do it for you (in auto mode) quickly press the gas pedal to the floor and let up and it should recognize the desire to accelerate and downshift the transmission for that purpose. then go ahead and punch it!

I had a similar experience to what Skym is having in the car I had before my RA. I was using a TiAL bov. My bov would flutter when the boost was 5psi or less, but would work normally above 5psi. This was for exactly the reason that chi-town mentioned above, just not enough boost to allow my bov to open up the way it normally does. I'd expect that the issue Skym mentioned is exactly that.
However, exyia's problem is a totally different animal. I'd re-route the AEM boost gauge line to another place asap, try to tee off the line on your intake mani.

I have changed the tubing and tapped a boost gauge into the bpv line. I thought this was the correct way to do it (My gauge seems to bounce up to ~21 psi on WOT and sits at ~ -20 psi at idle (vacuum))?
Please take a picture and show me where else I can tap the gauge into if there's known problems (There's only pictures of the Evo X installs and the RA does not look the same. Some lines and the BOV is fitted differently).
Also please tell me what kind of problems has arrised that you are mentioning.

Thanks.

you can also try looking up the phrase "turbocharger cavitation" in google for more information if simply searching for compressor surge isnt yielding enough results

it is very highly recommended that you find another hose to tap into for your boost gauge as tapping into the bpv line has been shown in a few other mitsu evo/ra applications to cause issues as well
