If you don't have one yet, small batteries are deceptively heavy - and that was a factor for making this bracket - it needed to not only hold it, but hold it tight and secure. The regular ECU bracket's metal was deemed way too thin/weak to attach a small battery bracket to, so this will be a full replacement.

I debated trying a different brand of small battery as I've heard mixed things about Genesis, but Bryan has a strong/long-term opinion on them, so I won't jump ship off of one bad experience
If I were looking to buy a bracket, I certainly wouldn't want it shipping with a heavy battery to Australia!

So if you can consider "just the bracket" as an option, that'd give people like me more flexibility.

Cheers,

Rich

what a weekend!

TX MOD 2011 on saturday - was unhappy to be there with such an incomplete car, but was still fun

baseline dyno done @ my tuner's shop with one of my customers. (202whp).

and then I get an email... "We have the prototype sitting at the shop.......etc etc"

lmao funny story

prototype before it's put together. The bottom grooves were on a separate piece for now, ready to be welded on once we lined it up on a test-fit

and then...lol, my tuner, in his excitement, welded the groove on BACKWARDS LMAO (the look on his face was priceless)

so no pics of it installed, but we did get vital measurements from this prototype - it wasn't wasted

we decided to go with stainless steel instead of aluminum for better strength/reliability, and lots of other details that I won't bore you with - but I can guarantee that my tuner put a lot more thought than just slapping metal together. scheduled to have another prototype on monday!

Heh, this brings back memories. I had a fuel filler flap snap off on a previous vehicle, so I took the separated hinge and panel bits in to a shop to have them weld it back together. Lo and behold, they welded it on backwards. Any idiot could tell at a glance that it could NEVER WORK as a hinged flap... but they handed it back to me with a "here you go".

Cue the face-palming.

They were wreckers/repairers too, so it's not like they hadn't seen the likes of it!

sorry this is taking so long, I'm looking around to see if I can speed up this process. I started this project months ago, long before I made this thread

glad to see people's interest though. was not expecting so much!

Here are some teaser pics. working with a different group of friends/people now for this product. will reveal details later as we get closer to production

since there was SO much interest, I decided to design this for production. if this was merely a personal mod, I would have done this so long ago (had my X turbo ready since January). I can tell you that this new design will NOT require any hack-sawing or sacrifices like the original design by JTran Studios

really like this pic for some reason!

might have the final prototype done tomorrow! stay tuned. thanks for the interest guys, that's what kept me going! and yes, we are keeping cost a big factor in mind when designing this bracket!
