I realize this may be a dumb question, but is it feasible to do Evo 8+ motor swap into a 2011 RA? I've read threads about Evo X turbo swaps but didn't come across any regarding the whole engine swap. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

Prob can if you have deep deep deep deep deep pockets. But seriously why would you? The headache your going to get with engine mounting points, gearbox, ecu issues is prob not worth all the trouble. Better off trading that 2011 RA for an evo 8.

confused... are you talking about a evo x engine in the RA or a evo8/9 engine into a RA

 

I can't imagine what you hope to gain from this. The 4B11T engine is a pretty stout piece and mods are plentiful. Putting in a 4G63 seems to be a completely unnecessary step. Please research your options thoruoghly before posting such skilly things.

 

They wouldnt swap the entire evox engine because its the same as the ra...i wouldnt bother with a 4g63 swap lol. Unless you like headaches

doesnt make sense... why? u coulda just picked up that evo9 instead of the ra. probably cheaper too. otherwise i would say no... unless u got time money or mad skill. the motor is set up so different simple things like turbo location i dont see how or why it would be economical. considering my ra keeps up with lightly/pretty heavy modded 9's.

edit- not to mention our cars are heavier so it would be next to pointless in my opinion would almost be 2 step backwards.

 

why would you man? But answer your question, yeah you can if you have as already stated, have the money and time to do so. Trying to make a sleeper or something? But yeah.

 

wouldnt even really be a sleeper unless u go absolutely crazey modding it. and even the. u would need a to put a different motor. like a 2.2 sooo i dunno. our car is capable of 11's i've seen 10 second 9's but...... like i said our car is heavier so u'll probably running 11's so its counter productive and a wast imo. unless your purpose is to say u did it and be very very very unique. it would be pretty crazy. i'd aww over it
