Triangle with ! in it along with check...

As what it says above mention....

It just came on today and I took a look in the manufacturer's manual and it indicates a "possible" loose timing chain.

I know this has been discussed before in the forum somewhere. But I just wanted to share on my side. Right now my car has 51,277 miles and this is happening already. This is really getting out of hand with my car and I do not even drive it hard or anything, and it is bone stock. First several months ago I had an ACD problem and it wasn't solved until last month which they replaced a full pump system which cost a good 1900 bucks for it but I had the aftermarket warranty that covered it. So now on with a new dealership to hopefully find this isn't serious. I had a sour note with other dealer with the ACD situation and I embarrassed the hell out of them for proving them wrong! Thanks to you guys on this board with your help about the ACD.

Now back to the point about the triangle sign....anyone have this situation? How serious was this? Please be welcome to share this. Once this is fixed, I am debating on getting rid of this although I do not want to cuz I really enjoy this car a lot for being my daily driver. It is the love/hate thing going on right now. Anyone have this kind of feeling?

Thanks

Sebastian

thanks for throwing this out there. great info !

there appear to be more and more 09's with the timing chain issue. Does anyone know when they brought out the redesigned block?

Thanks for the info....sorry I have been off the hook here due to the fact that I have been busy with those scumbags at the dealer to convict them that this is a warranty issue and wound up disputing with the higher up at the Mitsu corp. Now that it is done with and under warranty....the wait is still pending due to the fact that the dealer lost power during the hurricane. The suspense keeps going for me. for the dealerships that are playing the runarounds. I know that they do not want to do the warranty work cuz they get the "cheaper" rate but they should be glad that they have a freaking job comparing to others who don't have a job and are more desperate!!! They should be thankful!!!

That is a good question and I am sure the others on the board with a greater knowledge may be able to answer this but I highly doubt that it has been overhauled or redesigned due to financial cost to keep it a minimum at Mitsubishi. Hope this helps and for the others correct me if I am wrong about this situation.

here is where some of the info came from about a redesigned block. Hopefully this was in fact to eliminate a catastrophic issue should a timing chain stretch issue were to come about.

Well today is the day I stopped by the dealership and they stated this....

(Them) It is under all warranty with no maintenance records (in a sarcastic way from their way of hiding it)..

(Me) For the record ma'am, I am the one that keeps the car maintained due to the fact that 3 techs, yes 3 techs and I repeat again, 3 techs didn't know for crap to do with my car so therefore I started to take care of my own oil changes and doing some fluid changes myself with the receipts that I keep. So ma'am, for the record, the car is absolutely anally maintained!! (This is me saying this in front of other customers who were sitting in the lobby area and just speaking with a normal voice although I am sure the others heard me).

(Them) Well, we are waiting for the parts and we spoke to your wife about this.

(Me) Okay, while standing there and texting to my wife and asked about this. She says that she called them while I was in school and they say they're waiting for the parts and we will call you. Then I say to the service tech and told them that you didn't call my wife and she is the one that called you right?

(Them) Uhhhh, oh yeah she is right, sorry about the confusion.

(Me) Thinking inside my head and getting worried about their miscommunication. And then lastly saying to them, you screw this up, you ARE going to hear from my General Lawyer and the higher up at the Mitsubishi Corp, ok ma'am? Also by the way, have a wonderful weekend worrying about me. (winked)

(Them) Just looking like a starry shocked look on their face at me.

For this what has gone on today was just absolutely priceless to see that look!!
