Haha E-tune it!! It depends what you are doing. I think if you go the EvoX turbo/injectors/fuel pump upgrade, then it's gotta be the real deal.

But I had basically just did every bolt-on possible (minus the cat-back for sound reasons). An E-tune got me to my goal safely (and exceeded it). I got great service and was glad I went that route.

So AMS did the E-Tune, and you just download to the AP?

Easy as that?

So you run these tunes on your Cobb? How does it compare to Stage 2 Cobb? Can I switch maps (i.e., back and forth between Cobb and AMS)?

Yeah, basically you download the AccessPort manager. So you have access to all the info on your AP.

AMS are one of the only ones that can make tunes that are the same format as Cobb tunes (they must tune with AccessTuner software). The AMS tunes get uploaded into your AP like you would with any other Cobb tunes. I have to give credit where credit is due, the AccessPort is a pretty amazing and well designed little tool.

So how it works:

-Mitch sent me a basemap to start with
-I put all the parts on my car
-Flashed the car with the aforementioned basemap
-Datalogged a couple pulls in 3rd gear (you have to set up your AccessPort to log specific items, Mitch will tell you which one he needs)
-Saved those datalogs from my AP to my PC through AccessPort Manager and sent them to Mitch
-He'd analyze the data and send me back a revised tune. We ended up doing 7 revisions.

Well in comparison to the stage 2, I have about +12.5%whp/13%wtq over Cobb Stage 2.

To be honest with you, I tried out the Stage 2 at one point and it felt pretty slow IMO. The boost didn't spool up quickly. I also find I have more of an even power band now.

Good luck to you guys. If you go back up, Mitch commented after my first post in this thread. You can send him all your questions/tuning plans etc...and he'll help you out. I'm sure there's stuff I missed so you might be better off contacting him.

Merry Christmas!!

Yes you can switch between whatever maps you want. The AMS tunes are just another tune in your list.
