That sweet turbo whistle
That sweet turbo whistle
Hey guys, new Ralliart owner here. Never had a turbo or performance car before (so I'm kinda ashamed to call myself a lifelong car enthusiast) - I've only ever been a passenger in one, or heard it via videos posted online, etc.
I love the sound of the turbo whistle. In heavily modded cars running high boost, it's more pronounced. However in a stock Lancer Ralliart running ~0.9 bar give or take, there's not alot going on and it gets drowned out easily by the radio.
So my question, how do I get more of that sweet turbo whistle that I crave? Sound I be looking at induction or exhaust mods? I thank you for your input.

Thanks for all your replies. I must fight the urge to go crazy with mods - my original goal was to create a sleeper. My insurance company states all mods are covered, as long as they're legal. So that's good news... On the other hand, I'm already thinking about so many possibilities and I haven't even began making payment 1 to the finance company for the car yet!
Evo X turbo, IC and piping; spray paint the intercooler black to hide it and maybe change the bonnet (hood) to a standard Lancer model's one without the vents.

i wouldn't change the hood to the non-vented type. If you ever have to drive in stop and go traffic, the heat soak under the hood will translate into a hotter passenger compartment...
