Lighter and/or Underdrive Pulley?

Is one available for the 4B11T and is it effective in helping the engine (and by extension, the turbo) spool up faster?

I have not seen any discussion... Or did i miss it?

RRE sells one, around $150.

I think the consensus is there are better ways to spend that $150.

That is one part that I would never install on the car. You will have nothing but problems. Battery not charging properly, lights become dim..... and the biggest problem with the pulley is that there is no real gains.

It depends how much lighter it is though. A bit of unspeung weight can always help.

It would be nice to hear from anyone who has installed this.

Let me tell you something. You are driving an awesome cars. Mod it the right way. Let Civic owners use pulleys and electric turbos.

save 150 for a bigger bang for the buck part IMO

Yeah I started reading around in the EvoX forums and no one used them either. It causes a lot of necessary vibration if you change the OEM one.

Im not well read on the 4b11 but i assume it has balance shafts? If you replace the harmonic damper then it will be fine. Its been estimated Every 1lb removed from then engine rotating assembly frees 2.7hp up that doesnt have to spin the extra weight. But it also dips torqe. But not nearly as much. Underdrive pulleys are a bad idea i agree with the masses. But lightened pulleys are fine to a certain extent. I am selling one for a ix that i used for several thousand miles with no excess bearing wear on my first motor. I removed my balance shaft so i need a quality damper to soak up the excess vibration now. Otherwise id still have it. And it didnt cause my lights to dim or any ill effects on performance.
That being said there arent to many decent mods for 150bucks. Eventually your gonna end up buying it or upgrading passed its effective range. But how many thousands do we waste doing that with other parts. For examples check my sig

The 4b11T does not use balance shafts fyi. removing the damper will cause excess vibration
