What do you guys think about full bolt on, Rad lite and some s1/s2 cams. What numbers would I expect, will the tranny be safe?

cams would be useless with the RAD lite. Better to spend that cam money on e85 if it's in your area, or scrap the RAD lite and cams and do an x swap with bigger turbo.

The Rad Lite has really fast spool. It can make a decent amount of power, you won't be blown away.

Also, be very careful tuning it. I'm not sure if it's compressor surge and a mix of bad tuning, but I've seen a few blown heads (including my own) while running the Rad Lite.

I'd honestly suggest keeping boost at 22-24psi max. and make sure your intercooler/intercooler piping/3-port EBC/minimum EvoX BPV. I also ran the Ultimate Racing long downpipe. I made roughly 320whp with all the above + full exhaust + upgraded Works panel filter on stock intake.

I found these attached instructions on how to do a Turbo swap on a Evox. How similar is this to the Ralliart. Anyone know of any Ralliart specific instructions ?

Why remove exhaust manifold

I am wondering why is everyone removing the exhaust manifold as well as the turbo. The Garett instructions refer to removing the manifold and CBRD in their post also mentioned removing the exhaust manifold ?

I thought one of the benefits of the RAD Lite is that it was just a Turbo swap ?

Am I missing something ?

Yeah, it's replacing the turbo. NOT replacing all of the parts that connect the turbo to the engine.

"Just a turbo swap" doesn't necessarily fully describe all of the labor that's involved in the process. It primarily describes the main parts that are replaced.

to get to the turbo, you need to take the manifold off

OK I read the instructions closely and I guess to get the turbo out the car it has to come out the top.

Don't know why but I thought we could get the matchbox sized Ralliart turbo out the bottom of the car.

For those of you that have done the swap how long did it take to do all of the work ?
Any tips ?

Do you really need to drain all of the coolant ? - Just did a coolant flush 5000 miles ago

You could just clamp or plug the coolant lines to reduce drainage...

your refering to the oil feed tube eye bolts? right?

also did you reuse or replace the "seal' ... that circle seal thing in the turbo exhaust inlet

i reused the same bolts when installing the rad and one of the bolts failed at the track about 9 months later / blew a gasket and sucked in the centring ring between the manifold and turbo. could have gone even more pear shaped, but thankfully i parked the car and found the ring barely a few mm from the compressor blades. i then replaced all the bolts and gaskets and have been trouble free

apart from that, the rad has been a great street turbs been about a year of super fun happy times!
