stupid boost pill installation question
stupid boost pill installation question
Hi guys, I just received an arms boost pill. I have a mapengine for it. Two newbie questions. I moved the stock clamps but I'm having a hard time getting the tubing off to remove the pill. Any suggestions or tips? also, should I use the same clamps again or use a zip ties? lastly, will using a boost pill with a proper map significantly decreased the life of my engine ? I've heard mixed things. Thanks everyone.
Just keep wiggling/tugging. It'll come loose. You'll want to get a long flexible piece of plastic to stick in there to push it out once you do get it loose, and to get the new one in place.
Use the stock clamps. I can't think of a good reason not to. Even without them I'm not sure how far it could possibly travel, but then again I can't remember exactly how snug the fit was and the size of the nipple it connects to.
It shouldn't cause any damage or unnecessary wear to your engine. This is the same engine used in the EVO. A boost pill and a tune is pretty tame in comparison to what many people have done to these engines.

^ all true.
Me? I used a long reach needle nose pliers to rotate the hoses back and forth a bit to help release them.
I used a small diameter phillips screwdriver to push the old one out and the new one in.
Stock clamps are better than zip ties, so re-use them.
