Frontend crunching noise

So I've been reading through the posts on similar issues but mine seems a bit different as I'm not getting any clunking noises. My RA starts to develop a loud crunching noise followed by an abrupt disengagement feeling when I'm breaking. The noise happens as I come to a complete stop and get significantly louder the longer I drive. Going into stop and go traffic from the highway is extremely embarrassing as my car sounds like I'm about to leave something on the road. The dealership of course says its normal because most of those "techs" have no clue. Anyways any help would be greatly appreciate as I have visited my dealership roughly 16 times and at this point its just insanity. Thx guys.

PS anyone know any good Mitsu mechanics in Toronto area, I'd rather pay out of my own pocket for this fix than loose anymore hair and I can finally start messing around a bit to get something more out of my car.

Did you check to see if anything was caught in the springs or around the a arms?

It doesnt seem to be anything related to the suspension, I'm worried it might be something like my front diff. Since it gets louder the longer the car is driven, especially highway speeds, I'm suspecting something in the drivetrain. The car has 60,000 km with full maintenance but I am the second owner and i really dont know what the original owner did to the car. Its just a really bad crunching/grinding noise when the car comes to a full stop.

If that's your transfer case screaming for mercy then you're beyond preventative maintenance. That sucker will probably need replaced or rebuilt. I suggest rebuild by Jack's transmissions if that is the case. I'd have it checked out for sure if you cannot diagnose by yourself.

Yea I'd love to find a reputable shop to give my front end a proper diagnose but a 25 hour drive to Colorado is a bit much. Anyone know of any decent shops in Toronto or the GTA in general?
