My 2010 Ralliart sportback has been down for a month now. Went to start it the morning it died and the car stalled out after 90 seconds. Threw the cam shaft and crank shaft sensor error code. After a week of fighting with the extended warranty finally had it towed to dealership. They are saying i skipped time and my timing chain and tensioners needed replaced. I lost 80 % oil pressure, but there is no oil on the ground. Last oil change was beginning of february and there is only 4k miles since that oil change. Now dealership is telling me i need a new engine? what can cause this. My oil changes have been every 7k miles. using Mobil1 synthetic extended performance oil and filter. What else can cause this?

First thought - the extended warranty should cover the new motor. Document and insist. Lawyer-up, even.

Yeah, if the cam, crank and loss of oil pressure all point to timing chain failure.

You won't see oil on the ground; it is not a leak. The oil pump is not turning (or turning fast enough to build pressure).

Hard to say what caused it until you open it, but as long as you don't have any mods and have not abused/tracked the car - it doesn't matter.
