Have the bugs been worked out of the SS mode? By bugs I mean the hunting and felt clutch slippage. Is teach in still the best way unlock it? I have been patiently waiting for someone to tweak this mapping as I am too chicken to play with my wife's 11k mile car.

I have no issue with my14 ralliart but I needed to do a 3 port tune so the engine was making power to 7500 rpm like an evo. Have done a number of track days and all good so far. No good having the shifts so high in the rpm range if there is no power there.

so i've got some hunting at low speeds and had the clutch slip going up long hills at lower speeds
figure i'm going to bring into mitsu to check the trans as i'm still under warranty till oct,
so as far as flashing back to stock is all that needed to do is editing the text/ name of the file like we did to flash to the evo firmware?

You follow the intructions to the letter, you just have to modify the stock file like you did the evo one. ie name and some text bits from the "read" you have to do

Is anyone having issues flashing to a 2012+ ralliart using passthrucan?
Car I'm trying to flash to currently has:
ECU p/n: 8631A972
SW p/n: 8631A9720A
I'm trying to flash a 2012 evo software onto it with the following details:
ECU p/n: 8631A971
SW p/n: 8631A9710A
Passthrucan is telling me no update required, presumably because the existing software number is higher than the one I'm trying to flash into it. Has anybody got a workaround for this? Or a force flash method to allow me to 'downgrade' the software on the TCU?

It's the flpart file that's not working right. Check the data. The file you are trying to flash onto it is looking at the 8631B151_dio30.flpart information.
<MMC_FlPart><PassThruCANFlash><NewPartInfo><NEW_HW _PNAME>8631A971</NEW_HW_PNAME><NEW_SW_PNAME>8631A9710A</NEW_SW_PNAME></NewPartInfo><CFF_FILENAME>8631B151_dio30</CFF_FILENAME><CBF_FILENAME>AMT_17800000_000204_dio 30_C</CBF_FILENAME><SYSTEM>TC-SST</SYSTEM><CONTENTS>Reprogramming data for Mechatronic Assy replacement of 12MY LANCER EVOLUTION</CONTENTS><DATE>2011.12.12</DATE><CLASS>Reprogramming for Teach-in</CLASS><ApplicablePartInfo><TARGET_HW_PNAME>8631A27 0</TARGET_HW_PNAME><TARGET_SW_PNAME>8631A2700C</TARGET_SW_PNAME></ApplicablePartInfo></PassThruCANFlash></MMC_FlPart>
The <NEW_HW_PNAME> is correct for the version you are putting on. It's the <TARGET_HW_PNAME> that needs to be changed to match what version the car has. Here is what is should be.

If it helps, it is a 2013 model ralliart.
Thanks vaqusis, that's exactly the file I was using to flash. I have done this before with other models, but not with 2013+ models like this particular one.
Would I be able to flash it back to a 2009-2012 ralliart, before flashing it up to the 86319720A?
I can't quite understand why I can't just force flash it to the 2013 evo x tcu info...

Hey guys any one experienced the following: after installing s-sport and doing teach in, I got the 6th gear rev hunt, and the 4th gear clutch let go, so I removed the flash. However, I also go a concerning 'crunch' when changing from 5th to 6th in normal mode. This didn't disappear after flashing back to stock. It only happens occasionally, but seems to have gotten more frequent. I also got it once going from 3rd to 4th. Sounds like running over a plastic bottle. Also, if I nail it off the line in 1st, when it changes to 2nd it doesn't engage the gear correctly, and slips, ie it doesn't sound like the revs drop, and i cant feel the thump of a gear change. Anyone else had this issue?
BTW im at @ ~250kw atw

Any help with how to get through the authorization part of this? I was able to get everything done but it is asking for a user i.d. and pass word. Not sure how to get past this..... I am using windows xp if that is any concern.
