2011 Ralliart ECU Flashing
2011 Ralliart ECU Flashing
I have a 2011 ralliart that I want to flash with a base map. I currently run an Evo X BOV and an Injen UICP. I know with these current mods I don't require a tune.
In the next couple days I will be ordering my tactrix 2.0 cable. I have the latest version of EcuFlash 1.44 on a windows laptop.
When I mess around with it on my computer, when you pull down the menu that says "select vehicle" it doesn't show anything about ralliarts. Does this show up once you have your car plugged into the computer with the tactrix cable? Will it read directly from your ECU?
I have already downloaded the newest version of the tunes, the version 3's at the top of the GST basemap page. Do you load the map you want to write to your ECU in EcuFlash prior to reading your stock ECU from your car?
Later on I plan on running a boost pill and was wondering if the pills are all the same. GST, AEM etc when it comes to the pill.
I will also in the next couple years put a drop in filter, catback exhaust, and an Evo X FMIC.
When I add those parts, I will be installing the proper base maps.
As far as the install, do you guys normally hook up to a trickle charger? And when you say turn the car "on", it means the last click(2 clicks forward) before you start it, correct? You DON'T want to have it on accessory(1 click forward) ?
Just clarifying everything before I jump in. I have been reading a lot about it for awhile now. Just would rather be safe than sorry.
Thanks guys

To answer your questions:
For your vehicle, select "Mitsubishi ALL CAN Vehicles 2006+ mitsucan"
I usually READ and SAVE my stock map before I load or flash any other roms.
I'm not sure that there has been any real extensive tests done on the different boost pills, but general consensus is that they're all the same and it doesn't matter which you get.
When I flash, I don't bother with a trickle charger. If your car has been running recently, you should have plenty of battery power. Just make sure your laptop is plugged-in or fully charged.
You want to make sure your car is turned to the "ON" position (which is the last position before the engine starts cranking over). Pretty sure it won't work in the "ACC" position.

My cable got shipped today. I'm going to be running the 2.0 on the newsy EcuFlash 1.44. I loaded my map last night and everything seemed to work right. No error messages, so now I'm just waiting to read and save mine then flash the new one. I think I'll also flash the S-Sport mode too while I'm at it.
Thanks a lot!
