Tranny going bad?

I know that this has probably been asked and cover several times but I couldn't find an answer when I searched.
Whenever I'm starting from a stop, especially up hill, the transmission is slipping or more like ratching, jumping. If I feather the throttle it minimizes it. It doesn't matter if I'm in normal or sport or shifting manually or in auto.
Am I just in need of a fluid change? Or do I need to take it in and have it looked at?
All input would be appreciated. :confused

If it is what I think it is:
This is normal. When you release the brake pedal the computer 'holds' the brake pressure (for about 5? seconds) until you give it throttle. This prevents it from rolling back (like any other manual transmission car would).

It is NOT like an automatic with a torque converter, which will 'hold you' on a hill.

So. Use the brakes - don't try to have the tranny 'hold' it on a hill.

If I am on the wring track, post up a video to show us what you mean.

I've been trying to upload the vid. but I keep getting invalid file. The forum doesn't upload mp4. I'm going to have to convert it tomorrow.

What you're describing is "hill start assist." It was introduced on the 2010 models, so kilroywzhere's 2009 won't have it.

I've tried to get a good vid to link to YouTube but you really can't hear it all I can get is the camera jerking around.
Now I've had TJ from WTF (Wasatch Turbo Factory) flash my ECU to give me S-Sport and the problem has went away. Which would lead me to believe that my clutches are probably getting thin.
FYI for anyone around the Utah area. TJ is an awesome guy. He personally to care of me and explained everything that he was doing. Super smart and knows his stuff!! WTF will be doing my full tune and dyno as soon as I'm finished getting all the parts on. I can't wait!!

Where is the vibration coming from?? Or where do you "feel" it coming from in the car?

Ok. So I called the place where it had been serviced. And they said it had a bad transmission. Now what?
