I'm looking to install a boost gauge, transmission gauge, and a wideband gauge in my ralliart on the a pillar. Do you gouys prifer using electic or mechanical gauges with these 3. I will be using auto meter gauges. Also if anyone has and pics of how they installed their gauges that would be great if you could post them. Thanks!

I have autometer boost gauge installed. No problems. Bought it from JEGS. Third of the price of electric one.

Guages are very simple technology, even some of the cheaper brands have decent quality.

Go electric ! Very simple. Just use a fuse tap $4.99 at auto zone. Make sure whichever fuse you decide to tap into is ignition switched.

I used buy mechanical boost gauges because I was a cheap skate. After years now I prefer the electrical boost gauge as they reallllly don't cost that much more and there is no hoses/tubing going to the actual gauge in the car. I like having the tee-ed vac line source to be as short as possible and you can basically mount the electric sensor right next to the source. Instead of going through the cabin.

Just a heads-up, some owners (especially with aftermarked BPV's) have reported erratic bypass valve operation/fluctuation with a boost gauge tee'd into the BPV vacuum source hose.

Also, I feel like we went over this once or twice before...

^^^ Just to answer my own question, you can run the vacuum line through the graumets on the side fender like the Evo X given in the How to. So everything is basically the same for the RA.

I use AEM gauges with a CP-E Gauge Pod. I didn't put mine in the A Pillar due to the fact that I didn't want to mess around with a air bag that my or may not deploy properly if there are gauges attached to it. Plus I think it looks ricey IMO.

The first four pictures are not my car but the bottom one is. I also included the link to CP-E's website.
