Mates, please give me some input on these two set of tires:



Option 1:



ASA AR2 V2 (Machined Finish)
Bolt Pattern: 5-114
Rec. Tire Size:215/45-18
Weight: Not Available


Option 2:



O.Z. Alleggerita HLT (Anthracite Painted)
Offset: +48mm
Backspacing: 6.41"
Bolt Pattern: 5-114
Rec. Tire Size:215/45-18
Weight: 17.4lbs.


Now here's the thing, first option look just like the MR's BBS wheels which I like very much, but it fits our RA right on. Problem is TireRack doesn't have weight information on it, neither the offset.

Option 2 is about 200 bucks more expensive, they're really light which I like but the offset is 48mm... aren't we stuck with 18x8 45s if we want to drop the car a bit?

What do you think of the wheels? good or not?

I'm also thinking of fitting some Summer Max Performance Bridgestone Potenzas RE050A 225/45-18's in any of these.

I would definitely go with the meshies out of those two choices, except a different size. ASA's fitment guide says the AR1 (I think same wheel) is offered in 18x8 +40 & +45, which fits spot on with the ralliarts.

As another suggestion you could check out Enkei EKM3's (narrower design) or (if you feel like springing for a pricier wheel) BBS RX's. Although ASA is associated with BBS so it is up to you to decide if you want the pricier "parent" company or their subsidiary. All three companies will give you a high quality street wheel either way.

Hehe! I was almost decided towards the EKM3's but I saw some pictures with cars on them and I didn't like how they looked, reason why I didn't even post it here as an option; and the BBS are ALMOST the same as the ones in the Evo, and they're $800 a pop... so I passed on those lol (I wish I had the extra cash though, I'd buy them without argue);

I'll check for the AR1's and see how they look. I think the AR2's are probably the same size aren't they? seeing as how TireRack has them under the GTS/Ralliart set of available wheels...

 

I've found the tire rack and discount tire direct are convenient but don't offer much selection compared to a place like vividracing.com.

Regardless, I've found that sites like vividracing are much more helpful in looking at a decent selection of mid to high end wheels

I like the first ones but I would want to know the weight. Light weight wheels makes a difference but if the other were actually heavier then stock then I'd say no way.
