Eclipse factory wheels
Eclipse factory wheels
Hi All,
I'm a complete noob when it comes to wheels & tires and stuff.
Before i bought my wwRA, i was deciding between the eclipse and the RA,
i really like the factory wheels on the '10 eclipse and i wonder if they would fit nicely on the RA.
RA:
Wheel Size 18 in.
Tire Size 215/45R18
Eclipse:
Wheel Type 18"x8.0"JJ Alloy
Tire Size P235/45R18 94V
From what i understand, this means the Eclipse wheels are 2cm wider, what does the 94V mean?
i would assume the lug spacing is the same since the wheel diameter is the same.
Thanks!

94v is the load/speed rating of the tire rubber itself. yes the bolt pattern (5x114.3) is the same, though the overall diameter of the wheel has nothing to do with that really.
at stock ride height they are likely to cause rubbing issues in the rear over bumps or any time the rear suspension is put under a decent amount of load (ie. multiple passengers) making a fender roll very desirable if you are going to be running these wheels. if planning on lowering the car, it will be a must.
also, i just had a galant wheel off of a car a little while ago and when on the balancing machine, i checked the width and i thought it was 8.5 (i may be mistaken), so it should be the same for the eclipse if you are talking about the two-tone galant ralliart/eclipse gt or se rims. either way, 8 or 8.5 with the 235/45 tire, the above statements will hold true.

Keep in mind also, that if you're going to be running 235/45, your speedometer will be off a little bit...

235/40 would be the closest to stock tire diameter with only a 0.8% too fast reading on the speedo.

Are you talking about this wheel? If so, the specs are:
Enkei, 18x8, ET46
They are a direct fit. (same bolt pattern, hub size, uses the same stock lugs, same centercaps, and the OEM TPMS is completely transferable)
