LED DRL Replacement for Fog Lights

Hi! Has anyone attempted to replace their fog lights with LED strips or bars? I bought a LED DRL kit from Rostra ( http://www.rostra.com/custom-daytime...-by-rostra.php) but gonna return it b/c the light output is too low (1W per bulb blah). Any suggestion or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Wow, those look pretty bright. Any idea on the wattage per bulb and how are they wired? Also, where did you buy them?

It's kind of counter-intuitive to think so much in terms of wattage per bulb, considering they are LEDs. The number is very low, but they are pretty bright. Having said that, they are LEDs, and they don't "project" light very well. They are pretty bright, but I wouldn't necessarily say they are true functional foglights, singe they don't project a focused beam. It is more of an ambient illumination.

As for how they are wired, I purchased an H11 pigtail cable from ebay that is the same as the OEM foglight bulb to flying lead, and plugged the new LEDs right in to the stock foglight harness. I wanted my fogs on at all times the car was on, without having to turn the headlights on, so I put in a relay to turn on when the car ignition is on, that automatically grounds the foglight signal (turn them on).

And the lights are eBay specials...

I installed a set of these a few years ago.

They pretty much fit in the fog light housings with a bit of modification to the brackets for an oem look
