Evolution X DRL's LED Replacement Bulbs

I have recently purchased 2012 EvoX MR and i would like to change DRL(day running light) bulbs for an LED replacement. My question is will i have an error code associated with this change? I know that there are LED bulbs available that are error free and work with canbus system but is it necessary for this car? Can i just go with any LEDs. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've gone through a couple pairs but they were somewhat cheap and burned out. The superbrights I just bought are great.

I had to re pin when I first started using LEDs. Search the DRL thread for the superbright part number.

Swapped out my parking lights and DRL's in my 2014 MR without issue or repinning anything?

I just swapped out my DRL's and parking light bulbs with these and am 100000% satisfied. Looks like stock, but LED and should last a lot longer.

Ordered from: http://www.superbrightleds.com

DRL (order two they are sold individually) - 156 LED Bulb - 45 SMD LED Tower - BA15s Retrofit 1156 Warm White
https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...-car/526/1699/

Parking Lights - 194 LED Bulb - 6 LED - Miniature Wedge Retrofit Amber
https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...t-car/200/880/

I didn't want anything rice looking or with a 'blue / white' hue to them. These seriously look like a better version of the DRL.

Thanks for a good link, as i suspected modifications to wiring will be necessary. Fun project for the weekend.

I would try it without doing all that stuff first because I didn't have to mess with any wires, apparently its only some of the cars that have that problem.

What? Man just plug and play I didn't rewire anything. Could the wires have been a bit longer? Sure, but no zero no issues and I have the Xeon lights full SSS package etc.. If any car would break it would be mine but literally plug and play.

Don't over-think this, unless there is some massive difference between years which I seriously doubt.

All the items I linked are currently running on my car without issue for over a month now.

Yeah definitely. Swap bulbs then check first. I have a 2015 and they needed to be swapped.

Thanks for good tips. I will start with simple replacement before i'll mess with the wires. My car is equipped with factory BI-Xenon HID's and i would like something to match that pure white color. I know some cars like BMW are very sensitive to voltage changes and throw a code when regular bulbs are replaced with LEDs. I guess there is easy way to find out.

I'll try and take a picture this weekend of the car during the day so you can see what it looks like with the stuff I installed. Looks factory to be honest, just a bit cleaner. I think you can get a couple different colors from that link, I went with something that looked like it would be close to stock and it was. Not silly looking at all.

Summarizing, all of the 3 sets of different LEDs did not work on my car( 2012 MR-touring). I tried one set from eBay, one from superbrights, and one canbus error free from pepboys (all made in china).
I finally purchased PIAA 1156 extreme white bulbs 27Watt (as designed by mitsubishi) and they work and look great( they emit just bright white light-not yellow white and not bluish white)

Did you swap the wires for the first sets?
