Question Need help w/ TurboXS MBC install

I just bought the basic TurboXS manual boost controller from a friend of mine, but it didn't have any instructions. I've read the "how to install..." in that particular forum on here but that was for the AMS boost controller.

For those of you with the TurboXS MBC, is the install the same as in the "how to install..." forum?

I did a search but didn't find the answers I needed. Any help from people out there with the TurboXS MBC, would be greatly appreciated.

Alohas,
Dan

Sounds like you may have removed a pill in the line that is need to activate the wastgate. I replaced all the hoses when I added mine then figured out the stock ones had 2 small pills (flow restrictors) that caused the lines to build more preasure. Thus i was only boostong 10-11 psi. Make sure that the pills are in the lines, the one by the turbo before the T is the most important as its the one that keeps boost from building when removed. If you hacked up your lines have no fear, you can get a new boost tube asibley for 25 bucks from mitsu. like i did and it will solve your problem. check this out https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...807#post756807 Good luck!

What the hell did you do? All you do is change out the lines and you're done.

All i can say is WOW, reminds me of a time my friend put a MBC in his talon as his first mod. He calls me 2 days later telling me he blew his engine.

I just installed a Hallman Pro MBC this past weekend. The car holds boost at 20.5PSI all the way to redline then tapers down to 19.5PSI. I connected the bottom nipple on the MBC to the nipple coming off the turbo and the side nipple of the MBC to the wastgate nipple. Next I disconnected the two hoses to the boost solenoid valve and capped them off. Make sure you leave the wiring to the solenoid connected. Cap off the hose coming off your air intake hose as well. You will no longer need to use these hoses. I then tie wraped the factory T hose and solenoid hoses so I can reconnect if I need to take the car into service. Hope this helps.

if u look at the install forum for the mbc, it says ur supposed to cap everything off (turbo outlet included) use the waste gate actuator and t-off from the BOV. Thats what I did but i have a turboXS boost controller. Lol..is that wrong? I really dont want to blow up my turbo LOL ( it seems to be workin ok thou)

I have had the TXS MBC, Greddy Profec B Spec-II, and the Hallman.

The TXS MBC works fairly well but I was having all sorts of problems holding boost at redline. All I did was take some teflon plumber's tape and wrap it around the bleeder screw in teh TXS. That solved the boost falloff issue. I then gave that to a friend when I got the Greddy. The greddy is pretty good but once I got it set I couldn't figure out how to change it. I know it sounds really stupid but you have to tweak it soooooo much to just change it 1-2psi and have the quick boost response and boost holding capabilities that I had at my original setting that I have decided to sell it ($200 shipped if you want it).

Then I got the Hallman. I have it shooting .5 psi (21 psi) higher then I want it to then it falls off just slightly to 20.5 psi. Big Al did my tune for 21 so there are no worries about bad A/Fs.

the turboxs mbc leaked at redline as stated above.. i think our car boost to high for that mbc.. but i didnt try to mod it at all so you can try that.. i gave it to my brother in law's gsx.. since he is boosting well below 20psi
