Do not throw away of remove any pills from the lines. Do not throw away anything but be sure to keep anything left over so you can put it back to stock later.....

now thats a good picture

Here are the pros and cons of both hook-ups

1. Hooking it up the compressor outlet nipple:
A. This way gives you less spikes but slower spool up.
B. It does not seem to give repeatable boost. It seems
to fluctuate more with the temperature.
C. Boost seems to be harder to control below 15 psi or
above 22 psi. Almost everyone who wrote me
said this.
D. It is easier to hook up this way. No cutting any
boost lines. Plus the lines are kept shorter.
(Thus the less spikes).

2. Hooking it to the hose between the BOV and the intake:
A. This way seems to give slightly faster spool up than
the other way.
B. It gives more repeatable boost. It doesn't seem to
fluctuate as much with temperature differences.
C. The boost seems to be more controllable down to
stock turbo levels. (Like down to 7 or 8 psi for a 1G
with a stock 14B turbo).
D. It is more work to hook up. You have to cut the hose
between the BOV and intake and tee it in. (Not
that this is hard, its just an extra step so I put it
in here)

This may be a stupid question, but I never thought about this....can you tap into the BOV line and go straight to the wastegate without a MBC installed? Reason why I was wondering is that would vacuum damage the wastegate?

silverEVO8,
Thanks for the diagram!

Question: Would there be any problem just disconnecting the lines to the intake pipe, turbo, and wastegate, then capping off the intake pipe and turbo and leaving the hoses there in their location connected to the solonoid? It would make reversal much easier for dealership visits.

Thanks!

Thanks for the good words. I knew that I would have loved to get that little drawing before I started with my MBC installation

I don't see any problem doing that. Actually I would strongly suggest leaving the stuff in as near the original place as possible. I would only make sure that the hoses and everything were protected and secured.

My MBC was professionally done, and they didnt tap into the BOV line and now it wont hold boost, and its all the way closed and it still goes up to 21 psi, doesnt it have to be a little open in order to get t o 20psi

1. Hooking it up the compressor outlet nipple:
make sure you use the stock hose because of the restrictor / pill in it.

I have figured it out , the pros that installed my MBC, were still connecting the selenoid to the equation. So im guessing thats why it tapers, because the ECU is still telling to taper at high rpms.
So I have to disconnect the selenoid two, and plug the 2 holes, but what do I plug them with?

and 'T' the BOV line, and thats when my boost will hold to redline.

Taking selenoid out is the way, but is it safer, will more constant boost mess something up?

thanks for all of your replys, even the bad ones..but hey we are here to learn right

Thanks EvoM.
