Zip ties will work fine as long as you are using the correct size hose barbs on whatever fitting you're plugging your line to. If the hose barb is undersize, a wire tie won't keep it in place. Personally I use Oetiker clamps. They're cheaper than the damage that can be caused by a "runaway" wastegate.

You can get Oetiker (aka ear clamps) at McMaster. Click here.

Really, there's nothing wrong with using wire ties as long as your using the same size barbs and hose. In other words, if you're using 3/16" hose, make sure you're using 3/16" hose barbs. If your hose barbs are undersize, the hose can pull off even when zip tied. Ear clamps are OEM type clamps and are much more secure & compact. They're really not much more expensive than zip ties.

You do not need to cap the boost solenoid... Just make sure to leave it plugged in.. There is no need to cap it because it is not hooked up anymore, there is nothng running to it..Leave those nipples uncovered, and just cap teh nipples for the turbo outlet..

For quick changes back to stock, is it smarter to hook it up the to compressor outlet nipple, so there isn't any cuts in the lines for the dealership to see?

I made that sketch years ago and it's been proven many times. I don't know what could be wrong with your setup to only get 15 psi. It might be that the MBC is either defective or improperly adjusted. Can you try another MBC in its place? Maybe that will do it. The only other thing I can think of is that somehow you've missed some minor error in your installation. I know that I've made stupid mistakes many times before and checked them over and over and still not caught them Please double check everything again, or better yet, have someone else do it. A different pair of eyes can sometimes see something we miss......

Good luck

i used ams's mbc and i was very easy to hook up thanks to their directions

it eliminates all the stock hoses off the car and you use the kit they supply to hook it all up

you cap off the nipple under the intake and the one comin off the turbo, one line gets tapped into the bov and the other to the wastegate

simply and very effective, holds boost nicely
