All the numbers seem a little low. How many miles are on this engine?

Yeah i was wondering about the same thing but my isn't that bad.

I was pulling againist my friend's EVO on 2nd gear and over rev it for like a second or 2 but I immediately shift it to 3rd and let off the gas. My car still drive fine after that without any mechanical noise or anything. The car still pulls hard like before so Should I be worrying about it? I would think that the engine can handle a lil over rev like I had.

Can anyone answer my question? It was be greatly appreciated.

THANKS GUYS.

yours is fine. You would have hit fuel cut at 7600 rpms if u have a stock ECU. Downshifting into the wrong gear will overrev the motor. But you entered the redline, which is safe.

our GT1 panoz GTS over reved once at the track (we were gusitmating 15,000 rpm) put a pushrod through a rocker arm, twisted 2 rods (1 was sheared in half) and bent half his valves. funny thing was that the last time the owner came in, he commented that everytime he came to the shop it cost him $10,000 no matter what he had done. well this time it cost him closer to $15,000!!!!!! nearly everything had to be new.

I think it's gonna be a bent valve or two and a piston that has a new "relief" beaten into the top of it.

before pulling the head off i would recommend a cyl. leakage test.
This will tell you if it is exhaust valves, intake valves, head gasket, cracked head, piston rings, etc... and how much you are leaking.

no matter what it is, ur gonna have to pull off the head. The compression test showed that is was compression in a cylinder so u know its not a vac line or something, so take that newly built head apart again. I think it time for some new oversized valves again!
