dia-queen NEVER goes into the tranny. whoever told you that is wrong. dia-queen is for the t-case and the rear diff only. I used Penzoil Synchromesh for my tranny and it shifts like butter. I would have went with BG syncroshift II but Penzoil is much more readily available. I havent heard anything about the royal purple tranny fluid but if its anything like their motor oil, it should work great. Good luck.

Royal purple is one of the best oils out. It works far better than GM sycromesh which I used for years till I discovered how good the royal purple works. Royal purple is gl5 and has limited slip additive. It can be used in all the drivetrain parts. Tranny, t-case(incuding LSD) and rear end. The 80-90gear oil is what you want. They make a syncromax specifically for the tranny. But I haven't tried that yet. The 80-90 works VERY well. Shifts a good bit smoother than GM stuff, plus it is a high quality synthetic for superior protection. Pennzoil/GM/ syncromesh is NOT synthetic and breaks down very quickly. The pennzoil is like 5$ a quart. GM charges double for the same product. The bottle doesn't even tell you what the gl rating is. No comparrison between a synthetic and non-syn oil. Those using GM need to try the Royal purple, you wil see what i am talking about.

If you use the diaqueen you should use the GL-5 stuff in the tranny as well.. It is better than the gl-4 the dealer puts in the tranny. The gl-5 has EP "extreme pressure" lubricants which offers superior protection.

That is not correct....DiaQueen Super Multi Gear Oil 75W-85 (part # MZ313376) is the recommended fluid for the 6spd MR Transmission.

i bought the royal purple Synchromax for $11 @NAPA iguess i'll need 5 of these...

pennzoil was $6 at NAPA.

yeah i heard DiaQueen super gearoil 75w-85 comes w/ our cars from factory.

since i use royal purple engine oil and liked it i thought i would try using one in the tranny.

thanks all for the reply.
(my dealer also said they woud use this instead of the stock one so... )

dont use royal purple unless you really like shifting thru mud. i tried it in my 03 and it sucked... i have used redline lightweight as well as bg synchroshift and it has done wonders. stick with those 2 or stock IMO
