We just put in the cosworth 272 cams, 1008cc injectors on my IX and the idle is smooth and better than stock. The car pulls like a freight train and is pretty scary with the Carbonetics twin disk clutch holding the power. We should be hitting the dyno (dyno dynamic) in a week or two to clean up what we could not hit with road tuning. I will definitely keep you up to date on what we hit if you are interested.

Nothing beats the stock for conservative tuning

i think the new ones have it....or you can get an aftermarket knock sensor. but truthfully if you are a good tuner, u dont NEED it

You can use J&S Safeguard which will work with Autronic like a charm

That was the case for the EVO 8 PNP board, which is essentially a SMC. The EVO 9 PNP board however is a SM4, which AFAIK has knock control.

Thought you might want to know.

it still doesn't have it.

Do as I say if you need knock control, it works great.

Well, that is interesting. Perhaps it's the standalone SM4 only that has the knock control option. It's a bit confusing with Autronic.

unfortunately, there is NO knock control for any autronic ecu. it's been "coming" for some time (i have a standalone sm4). a quick call to ray hall will confirm this. what makes it confusing is that even though it is not available autronic refuses to stop advertising it, even on their home page for the sm4.

That is because knock control module is already under development for some time. There are some specific troubles that have to be solved, like different knock sensors on different cars and different frequencies of knock.

That is why I told you that J&S is working perfectly. Unimaginable good I could say.

You just put like 30deg in whole ignition table and let the J&S do the rest. It will retard timing per cylinder basis and keep the best ignition angle under control, no matter what is written in the table! Great stuff!

Thats not good advice at all. ALL knock retard systems have to hear knock before they can retard ignition. Cars make far more power when there is no knock at all. Making the car knock so the J&S can do its thing is a really bad idea.
