that site is invaluable for information. i may source the connectors from them. These prototypes aren't going to be cheap.
i'm sure we can figure something out.

the best thing to do might be to make a corporation. it would be easier to get free samples with a TIN. you could also write business expenditures (ie trips to the strip club).

i think it's fairly easy and not that expensive to incorporate if you are interested. my friend has done it and i can get details from him.

interesting- it says to not use the sensors above 850 degrees C. i know mines made quite a few trips above there and it's still working just fine.

silly conservative engineering companies......

speaking of high temps and sensors....this was a while back, but look what happened to my EGT sensor(s)
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...=209855&page=2

mikie....dex....I am still confused as to why this happened. I never got a straight answer. But I know that the current location of my egt sensor is probably why it has not failed yet.... But I will need to look into it more as I am in teh market for a new dp, and will need to re-mount the sensor.

did the sensor melt or break? you are lucky it didn't frag your turbo, based on teh look looks of those pictures.

i've never seen that before. i've run egts up to around 1700 degrees and never melted a sensor before (i have some omori gauges- which suck, but that's another story) and i think the egt gauge goes up to around 2200 degrees. i don't know what the sensor is rated for though.

that's really odd. last time i looked, there was a little white crust buildup on my probe but other than that, it was still working just fine.

are they using an egt probe meant for an N/A car or maybe a diesel motor?

yeah the specs are pretty conservative. Its like when you bing drink - your killing your liver. If you don't do it all the time you won't really notice the effects till way later in life

the first thing i thought of was poor turbo! i'm sure its fine with little shards of metal, but that looked a little bit big.

i say it's like exercise for your liver. you are just killing off the weak cells and giving the stronger ones more room to do their thing.....

Sensor melted according to greddy tech support. Yes I was EXTREMELY thankful that it didn't break. But at the time I first installed the egt sensor, I only had a cat-back exhaust. This is the part I am confused over.

well I guess its timing belt time!! the gear/pulley that the harmonic balancer mounts to is where the bolts broke off into. They are Grade 8 as is the gear, No way am I getting those out. They are seized in there good. I guess I will hack it together with 2 bolts and try to last till Saturday.

Now I have to order Kevlar timing belt. all pulleys, tensioners, and might as well buy a fluidampr while I am down there.
