Someone posted up the EVO X Enkeis on a IX. He said they weighed about 19lbs which I said was pretty light. Someone else chimed in and said his volks with the same specs (18x8.5) also weight 16lbs. I responded with saying that you are comparing apples with oranges. I dont think you can compare OEM enkeis with $2.5k volks not to mention the oem 17" enkeis weigh about 19lbs.

i listened to that killers song about 50 billion times yesterday...
i think that and the ok go song are my favs
16lbs seems a little light. not impossible, but i'd be really surprised if that was true.
i dunno- if they are within a couple of lbs of each other and they are equally as strong i'd say they are close, but other than that, not so much. i mean, you could go and drop thousands of dollars on some 22s, but that doesn't make them good wheels, so i don't think price is a consideration.

I dunno that is like saying that my stock suspension performs well but not compared to my ohlins coilovers. You are talking about expensive aftermarket performance parts vs oem.
Dude...the more you pay for wheels, teh better they are
Are you nuts to compare the two...???...quality is def on par with each other. If Mitsu had designed the MR BBS wheel (VIII - IX) in an 18", how bad would these be sought after?? That would be one of teh best wheels to date to run on an Evo. The 17" which was chosen, is an awesome wheel. But 18" diameters, for many arguable reasons, seem to be the cornerstone to all road race going specs. Enkei makes a very high quality wheel. And they are amongst the greats like Volk. It all depends what you are comparing between the two.

I am not saying that price denotes quality. I am saying that the OEM enkei (not BBS) is not as good of a wheels as a volks are. The Volk is lighter, does that make it better, well for racing, ya. I would say that an 18" volk compared to an 18" OEM designed enkei is a better wheel.
i'd have to see the specs to make an informed call. the enkei wheels i have are like 15 lbs a piece for a 17x8. i know a lot of people that race them and love them so i would definitely put them up against volks.
