88590015 Evo Live Map - ROM and software
haha i know i promised before but i actually will try to find some time to test this. Things have been super busy. I haven't moved to tephras V6 yet so i can try this before i upgrade.
The addresses used also conflict with your closed loop wideband patch, we can move things around.
What maps do you need to copy to make your engine start on a near stock ROM? Injector size, fuel and timing, or are you relying on many patches just to run your engine?
Do you want me to modify your actual ROM with all your mods and maps so you can test this?

First post download link updated - ROM is virtually identical to before so don't panic if you are part way through copying maps across. The only difference is that Tephra 1 byte load is also on request ID 00 to allow map tracing. The PC software includes the map tracing, ignition, fuelling adjustments as on the youtube videos.
Note that if you have changed your load and RPM axis values from stock you need to paste them into the PC app and click save to xml on the fuel and timing. This will make sure your map tracing lines up correctly.

I had a few minutes so i added in the 3 bar MAP settings. If anyone wants it i will gladly send it to you. JB if you want to add it to your zip to save time let me know. I will be testing tomorrow evening. Cant wait!
Edit:
Ok once i figured out i have to use Alt maps everything works fine. I tested the car off and at idle. Unfortunately i am blocked in the driveway so i will continue to test this weekend. So far so good.
I can't switch to alt maps since i dont have a way to hooked up in the car. Is there a way i can use the normal octane and fuel maps? i would like to see the changes in timing at idle and such.
I think for injectors and SD/maf tuning this will be incredibly beneficial.

Not as it stands, RAM only. The normal maps are in ROM.
Even if you don't run the engine off your alt maps you should be able to read, edit, write, confirm that changes are remembered with key off etc.
If tephra tells me what address to alter to force his map switching I'll add a button (see other thread).

I think I'll let 88590015 die as it doesn't seem that anyone wants it six months after posting a ROM that I believe works... I am a bit surprised as I thought live map tracing and live ignition and fuel editing would be useful on this popular US ROM.

Get the universal EVO8 ROM working and I'll use it with this.
I think that since it's something you would have to mess around with to figure out, many people don't want to try it. Those same people are likely the people that have never had the convenience of live mapping. I think if most of them gave it a shot, they would be converted.
I'm all about the high speed logging too.
