Mine seems to start and idle well with the Percent low temp timing zero'd out, but I still tend to idle at 2000 rpm at stoplights, randomly, even when warm.

Fixem... have you adjusted your BISS? Did you change any of the ISCV tables?

These 2 seem to be related. The Percent low timing trim looks like an activation table for the ignition map.

I bet that just by zeroing out the percent low timing table, the ignition one will never be used.

I'm not sure if that particular table(s) is what minimized the high revving. Zeroing out that table should actually cause higher revving, since you are adding timing.

Do we know what calls this "unknown ignition table"?

If you look at the way the percent low timing table is constructed it activates something durring cold warm up then shuts that something off again once warm.

It appears that the unknown ignition table could be the something that is being turned on and off. The sever retardation of timing will rapidly warm up the cat and then engine. Since most of us don't have a cat....we can essentailly disable this table and allow the car to warm up naturally.

Oh and if you see that at really cold temps the something table isn't necessary so the engine can start and run withour timing retardation.

You would think so right, but this is the only thing that droped my cold start idle down... Once the car was warm before I zero'd out that table it would idle fine it just acted up when cold...

I am pretty sure that the Percent low coolant timing trim only has an effect on the low coolant timing trim map and not the unknown startup table ( hole of 5s), I could be wrong, as I changed a ton of stuff the past two weeks to get the car how I wanted it...

I recently installed a 65mm tb and had the 2k rpm issue, adjust your biss clockwise and that should do it. Worked for me, 1k rpm with ac on or off

Looks like my post have helped out. By zeroing out the table I mentioned it will not look at the map when cold. If you notice in the stock settings, it would look at that timing retardation map when cold. I have not had a problem since I zero'd out that map. I also have universal bosch o2 sensor...

I just realized something.....looking at everyone signatures and such I discovered that most of us are running simular mods and power levels. It seems also that every one of us tunes our own cars.

I find this as amazing.....we all have so much in common.

When are some of the "tuners" out there going to chime in and give some assistance on what they do to cure cold idle/start issues? Or do they even care for that matter?

Sorry back on topic....

I compared, once again, ISCV tables from stock roms and it appears that there is a ton of differences. I originally had 94170008 on my car stock. I upgraded to 94170015 and this is when the idle issues first began. I then moved to v7 using 94170015 settings and the idle trend continued.

Rather than going back to using 94170008 ISCV settings I simply tuned around it. I am going to try and go back to my 0008 ISCV settings and reset the BISS. I plan on disconnecting the battery to clear residual memory and start idle tuning again to see if the issue is resolved.

This is more of a test at this point as my car now idles like a champ cold and warm.

This code doesn't work on the 94170015 does it?

So what did you do again to get your idle fixed? I don't feel like changing to V7 or any other roms...

The name of that table is different for 94170015

94170015

<table name="Warmup Advance/Retard Activation" address="41dc">
<table name="Engine Temp" address="681a"/>
</table>

evo7base

<table name="Warmup Advance/Retard Activation" category="Ignition Trim" type="2D" level="2" scaling="Percent255">
<table name="Engine Temp" type="X Axis" elements="8" scaling="Temp"/>
</table>

These are my settings....IDLE ISSUES SOLVED ! !

Table
EGR System Enable/Disable....changed from 1 to 0

Periphery FAA bit 11 (Disable EGR . Enable Ign Adv) set to stock setting = 0
Periphery FAA bit 10 (Timing Knockdown on Light Acceleration and less than <3000) set to = 0
Periphery FAA bit 9 (enable warmup ign retard) set to stock setting = 1

Periphery FCA bit 15 (P0443, P0446, P0403, P0243, P0090, P2263) set to = 0
Periphery FCA bit 14 (P0450, P0451, P0452, P0453 Evap) set to = 0
Periphery FCA bit 13 (P0441, P0442 Evap) set to = 0
Periphery FCA bit 10 (P1400 MAP sensor) set to = 0
Periphery FCA bit 9 (P0401 EGR Test) set to = 0

Periphery FEA bit 14 (P0069 MAP vs Baro) set to stock setting = 1

ALSO....

This table....for v7 96500006 versions...

<table name="Ignition Unknown Map (warm-up?)" category="Timing" address="61c9" type="3D" swapxy="true" scaling="Timing">
<table name="Load" address="6910" type="X Axis" elements="19" scaling="Load"/>
<table name ="RPM" address="68de" type="Y Axis" elements="20" scaling="RPM"/>
</table>

It will show up as a timing table with a big hole in the cold cruise area.

All I did was change the stock +5* timing areas in the idle area to my current cam timing setting of +11*. I left the hole alone other than changing the +5s to +11. It seemed to help idle considerably....the car idles much smoother and timing does not fluctuate near as much as it used to.

I get a 2d table with xxx's for values that cannot be modified. What does this table do for me?
