Sweet.....thanks for the input on FEA bit 14

It is so nice to have my car run well in all conditions. Cold start, throttle hang, and cold idle are all common issues of which I want complete resolution.

I can also say that FAA bit 9 will definitely change the fuel trims if scaling and latency were set with the bit enabled (1), then the bit is later disabled (0). It will change the trims substantially... by about 8%, or at least thats how they changed on my car...

So...in all, by using my settings for removing the EGR and EVAP stuff we have a 98% solution to drivability issues. I call this a huge success! !

I noticed the same thing with FAA....it makes huge changes...meaning that there are other things it affects we do not know of yet.

FF,

Did both Low and Mid Fuel Trims change significantly after you enabled (1) FAA bit 9? negative or positive %?

Thanks,

Jay

I actually set mine up with the bit disabled (0), and I had some weird looking settings on my latencies just to get the fuel trims in check... 11.72v- .864 & 14v- .600! Then when I enabled the bit it richened stuff up alot, both trims went way negative to like -11%. I haven't had much time to mess with the latency with the bit reenabled, I will post up the results in a few days...

^ Sure did, I can solder like nobody's business got it out/resoldered/installed in about an hour. Fixed the rich "warm up" problem and I have been messing with the scaling and latencey. I saw another post that the bosch universal sensors are garbage... wish I had seen that earlier. I did however order a new walker PNP O2 sensor from oxygensensors.com... should be here tomorrow and I will install that and see how it goes. I just don't trust solder with the heat of the exhaust that close... it only takes eutectic solder 361* to start to melt so I want no reliability issues from that. I have to drive it a few more days and see where the settings will settle but at these settings I am at LTFT Low: 2% and LTFT Mid: -2% Scaling at 650...

Today LTFT Low: -0.9% LTFT Mid: -2%... I am sure that the LTFT Mid is going to change some more though...

Dude... I am so **** about voltage and percentage tolerances, I guess it is from being in the Navy and working on electronics every day... we have to adjust everything to such tight tolerances... I feel like I am OCD

Freddie, any chance you can create a post for exactly what you have done to fix your issues, similar to what Appauld did a few pages back?

I had the exact same problem. My car would sputter at low loads and run lean. I zero'd out the low coolant temp timing trim map and also zero'd out the percent low temp timing trim vs. coolant temp and everything is great now. No more bucking and sputtering at light throttle in the morning.

FYI for those reading: I've seen "Percent Low Temp Timing Trim vs. Coolant Temp" referred to as "Warmup Retard Control" for 96530006. It's the same table. (Located at 3CB8 on 88590015, and 41DC on 96530006.)
