I think what I am going to try first is cutting it on a band saw, sanding down the edges - roughing the pipe up with a bit of sandpaper (where the coupler goes over) hair spray it and t-bolt it to see if that holds before I get it roll beaded (cause I have no idea where to have that done, haha)

Get it bead rolled first, I promise it will save frustration.

Will do - thanks for the tip

So how much is going to be removed? Do the pipes line up right except for the race pipe sitting inside the licp if you try to connect them?

That I am not sure of yet.
I don't have the Black installed yet and I won't have an exact measurement until then.

I do know that the RACE pipe is ~1 foot compared to the OEM is ~6 inches.

Yes it flows more air, do some searching in the Dyno section you'll find some charts to look at, but since this turbo is pretty new there's alot more RED charts

I see, just a different approach from the vendors.. the Buschur LICP I got came with a new outlet pipe.... which lined up great.. then when I got an FP turbo the install kit contained another outlet pipe (but this one for the 9comp housing) that lined up right where the old one had been.

ETS's pipe must reach all the way to the stock outlet pipe then instead of using a different outlet pipe?

Any heating and a/c company that does custom ductwork should have a bead roller... I'm in the biz so i know. Looks like a nice setup you got there, I'm getting the black too as soon as i sell my jeep (hopefully soon)

Hey guys,

Sorry for not updating sooner. I have been saving money for a bunch of parts and finally bought everything I need.

Anyways here are some pics that I've been snapping while I've been in the trenches (with my cell phone, GF has my camera) pulling this thing apart.

I have run into a problem with my ETS LICP and my FP compressor outlet pipe.
As you can see in the pictures below its to long.

I have 2 options:

1) Cut the FP compressor pipe and get a new roll bead on the pipe or cut the pipe and re-weld the existing roll bead back on. I would rather cut this pipe because the pipe diameter is smaller than the ETS LICP.
2) Cut the ETS LICP and make my life easier - however, will I be losing power due to the fact that I cut the larger diameter pipe instead of the smaller diameter pipe? (i.e. that I could have a larger diameter pipe for longer)

What do you guys think? Which is the best way to go? Does it really matter which pipe I cut?

Yes I did order the race pipe. I wish at the time they told me it was for Buschur IC's only.

I can't use the stock compressor outlet pipe because its the VIII's pipe and FP told me not to do it because it will be touching the starter.

I guess I could order a IX compressor outlet pipe.

What pipe are you running on your Black?

You dont want to know what I did but I will tell you anyway. I did what you did and ordered the race pipe and wound up in the same boat as you. I was pressed for time so I used the original outlet I had that came with my helix lower i/c pipe. It was hitting the started cable so I did what I had to do. I c-notched the started cable lead that bolts to the starter. It clears but its close. The rubber boot is also protecting it. Im going to get the correct pipe but for now its ok. I havent had any starting issues either. Im not recommending it but it can be done.

Haha, good times, isn't it??

Ahh- I can't decide what I should do. I'll have to sleep on it.
