Ok a little update, Got some time to go out and do some tuning this morning which was still pretty warm. But it was a success so far we dropped boost under 30psi and made some decent power as well. On 93oct 28psi I made 454whp 391 ft/lbs.

this is what i got

this ****er spools quick for a non mivec evo with only 2L displacement and a 68mm compressor wheel. i guess the SD is helping with that.

heres a comparison of a 9 gsr overlayed with the 8 here with similar mods

blue line = 9 GSR

note the 9 gsr is in colder weather also though.. but similar spool, but 9 has gobs more torque downlow.

Doesn't a GSR have a different gear ratio since it has taller gears than a MR 6 speed? Wouldn't that affect how fast the turbo spools? Either way the spool looks good on this 6 speed. Good Job!

Still seems low. I have a very similar setup in terms of parts except using buschur IC piping and fmic. Was running around 490whp on 27-28psi of boost on 93pump. Then again the engine was on it's way out.

Is the primary difference between these cars the MIVEC? Because the IX GSR is ****ting all over the VIII in this graph.

why do you think i posted the overlay of the 9 gsr to show this cars falling off uptop?

ive made 524 on 93oct also on a 2L with a fp black on 93oct with hks 272 cams (mild cams). part combination is really important.. but something is holding this car back at upper rpm. the fp black should not be flat lining like it is before 7k here. hell even on stroker and 2.4's it doesnt drop off uptop.

Hmm, so outside the throttle body they seem very similar. MIVEC has to make a bigger difference than a lot of people think because the curve on the IX is massively better.

You think that 3" FMIC could be holding him back with the black and all the heat it's making

quite possibly yes.. but honestly based on the characteristics of this vehicle i think someone messed with the head.. possibly the valves are to big or something of that nature.. its just falling on its face at upper RPM where that never happens with the fp black normally. according to the previous owner the head was never touched, but who knows.. its just not acting like a normal evo should so i suspect it was and done wrong at that.

mivec when tuned right for the cars setup makes insane differences.. theres no question about that. many tuners on this forum have proven that time and time again.

but theres a issue with this car.. as you can see it kind of runs out of juice after 6500, which should not happen.
