Anyone not happy with their AEM EMS?
Well I hope I don't get bashed too badly here. Just remember I own an Evo too, and like to mod mine as well.
With that said... I read though each post, and would like to say yes I believe that if you want the most power from an EVO you need the AEM. With the most available power, you do have trade-offs and sacrifices. I have a friend here in Houston that had all but given up on his EVO when he installed the AEM unit. His drivability just plain sucked, but it was due to lack of tuning exerience. With the AEM unit, you will just need to tinker and play more than just about anything else.
I started with basic mods and used the SAFC for my tuning, but it wasn't enough. I wanted timing adjustablity, knock control, and other funcitons. I was at a crossroad where I needed to decide on a standalone, as I wanted some tunability. I went with.... let the bashing begin.... a UTEC. With the UTEC I have just about all of the functions as the AEM, but less of the headache. I know that I still need to use a MAF, but this restriction, or drawback, was not enough to sway me to the AEM. In my opinion, if you compare the two (AEM and UTEC), they are basically the same. The best part with the UTEC is that I can ride the stock ecu, and just make adjustments to what I need (fuel table, and timing table). In my case I am making adjustments to more than just the two, but I love my UTEC.
I only posted this to help inform the EVO owners out there that just don't want to be constantly tweeking there computer.

I dont know after talking to Mark from Turbo Trix, he's assuring me that my car's drivability will be like stock. He seems to be an experienced tuner so we'll see what comes March 5th when he tunes my Evo. I hope im satisified with it.
I don't travel to tune. I am tied up here doing new products, testing and running the shop. If you are willing to pay me for a base map I can get it close and then help you via e-mail. You'll learn more this way.
I cannot tune a car in 2 hours as Jason said he can. I can't even imagine that to be honest. I didn't develop the system like he did though. If you had a good base map to start with it I guess I could. The cold start is a real *** kicker though.

The AEM EMS on our my RS with the MAS sensor still in the car offered NO gains over our flash did with Stage 2.5 on the car. That was around 330 whp.
I am using the EMS on the car still and have converted to speed density. It is making 387 to the wheels now on straight 94 octane. I do not believe the flash can duplicate these numbers but we will find out this weekend

You're a funny guy
Blow all the spent hot air you want All you do is swim in the bog of "toxic pollution" with your slippery amigos. That's just fine by me. Everyone knows the "real deal" and that's all that matters.

You should be easy to spot, just look for someone who looks like this

But with pom-poms in the routing section.
Grow up,learn to race, and maybe some day you could wish to win a round.
Enough of your internet nonsense,It seems quite clear that you dont have many friends on here.
See you at the races............................................. ............
