They do and don't
From what I know I look at traps. I assume he has more WHP as he has an EMS, I can't argue that, thats all. Not so much the dyno, but same mods Plus EMS> Flash

I disagree that an EMS will make more than a good flash. I will agree if you were to say that an EMS has a lot more expandability, tuneability and versatility than the stock ECU, though. You can do a lot more with it. I'll get an EMS a little later. I def. see value in it. I don't expect to get any HP with it though. FYI, Blitzbaster was tuned on the same dyno on the same weekend by the same guy as me.

Can someone explain how EMS can make more power than other engine management system (UTEC, XEDE, or just ECU flash?)? I know getting rid of MAF may help breath better, but anything else other than that?

It's all in the tuner. You make power with only a few basic variables. They all adjust the same things. The EMS is cool because it is so versatile. You can control a lot of stuff with it and log and monitor and tune easier than others, etc.

Remove the MAS, you remove a 20WHP restriction. Faster spool, a WAY better control lof timing and fuel plus a launch control. Most importantly, NO MORE CEL, I love it, that is why I will probably get one.

This lends to versatility and expandability rather than just "making more power" because of the tune. We agree.

Yes you can get more hp's with the ems with the elimination of the mass air, however it is very critical the gas you use. From one tank to the next you never get the same octane. Fortunately for texas , alot of the cars were really quite and had low knock. Unlike the stock ecu, the ems wont add timing. So say you got tuned on poor gas and made weak power, by putting good gas in or race gas , wont make you more power. It will only pull timing if it sees knock, it wont add when it doesnt. I advise alot of people that want the most power on pump is to either get a meth / water kit, or buy a case of octane booster, keep it in the trunk. Everytime you fill up add one. It def helps, we discovered this from evomiz who dyno'd his car with the ems, full exhaust , boost controler ( no cams ) and he made 355whp.. Car ran 12.0 with no cams.. on pump. Just my .02
