What did it cost you to install/tune ems ?
What did it cost you to install/tune ems ?
How much should I be looking to pay for installation of ems and wideband?
I have already wired in the pigtails for the IAT and MAP sensor and tapped the IAT sensor in. But I will be retaining my MAF for now. I will just be using the MAP for datalogging.
So pretty much all Forced Performance has to do is plug in the pigtails, wire wideband into o2 sensor harness(never seen it this way but really good idea, looks like stock wiring), and then they are going to road tune it. Thats the thing, Im not sure what all that involves. I know they are going to be doing WOT,part throttle, cold start, idle and knock control..and not sure what else.
Anything else I should address them to do specifically? They quoted 8 hrs the first time and that was with boost controlled by solenoid. I am sticking with my mbc cuz they said about half of those hours would be setting up that solenoid.
How many hours should I be looking at?
Thanks

My pricing for just tuning and no installation....

I do 95% of my tuning on a dyno and the other 5% on the street(drive ability, economy, ect.) I would however ask them how they will set the timing table with out the use of a dyno (to optimize the entire map). Make sure you are spending your money the most efficient way my friend.
It truly depends on the car my friend.... I have done AEM's in as little as 5 hours for full mapping and as much as 8 hours for just the base fuel table itself due to the car overheating while steady state tuning.
thank you
