differance between GM and AEM

I have been trying to find out why the power numbers are low on my car 373hp@22lbs on a dyno jet. I was just wondering if i change my MAP sensor from a GM unit to a AEM would i perhaps pick up that lost power?? I am running a Peak boost T04R kit and I have all the supporting mods for the kit as well.

umm... all that does is measure boost pressure... and adjust your maps accordingly (if so tuned)

i'm not to familiar with peak boost's kit, but if you feel 373awhp is alittle low for your liking i can't see where changing the map sensor would make a difference. i would be more conserned at looking at my logs to see if i was pulling timing or quite possibly not running enough timing. also i have found in the past that my map sensor on my talon always read a lb. or two lower than my boost guage. so is this 22lb.s on the guage or on the log?

I am trying to get a laptop so I can log and send it to my tuner. I know my guage says 22 lbs but I am unaware of the log...I will try to get the logs and post them see what you guys think.

i'm going to assume you want to try the AEM solenoid instead of the GM unit to control boost?

i've actually heard from Brad at ISP that using the GM is alot easier to tune than the AEM unit because the range of the GM solenoid is alot easier to tune and be precise.

They dont make a difference. what boost guage do you have? most guages arent ever right. the only way to tell the actually boost is the aem log.

i've heard that the aem unit is more accurate than the GM.
Something along the lines of the manufacturer of the aem unit also does medical equipment too.

get the road race engineerings map sensor, the old school aem map sensor.

hear the new map sensor isn't as good as the old ones, which is gm i think. Gm's better.

who knows, maybe it's the tuning.
