AEM EMS Boost Control Vs Greddy Type S Dyno inside!
ok this is not on an evo but i am super impressed so i figured i would post this here as well.
These things have been available for a couple of months now, so we decided to give one a try. I have used the GM Boost Controller with the AEM EMS before and didn’t really like it, so sense AEM came out with their own boost solenoid I wasn’t itching to try one out. Sense its November and I didn’t have anything to do on Saturday I decided to strap down the supra and wire up the AEM Solenoid to the EMS and give it a try. (Good God was it a mistake to not hook it up before)
The speed of the AEM Boost solenoid is pretty damn impressive. I was able to hold 19.07PSI from 4700-7500 by adjusting the Duty a little up high. I mean literally a straight line of boost!
We are also able to put 100% duty all the way to 3psi of the target and not over shoot our target boost.
Check out the difference in spool the AEM Boost controller was able to give us vs. a Greddy type s boost controller.
Specs of the Car (94 Supra)
HKS Manifold & GT Wastegate
PTE 67mm .81 A/R O-Trim Turbo
HKS 264/264 Cams
AEM EMS
Fuel System
Greddy 4 row
Tilton Triple
Both Dyno's were done at 23.5psi

I cant wait to play with one of these on an evo with a stock turbo to see what we can do with the boost taper. should be after Thanks giving and i will post up the results.

greddy vs. aem
I had a greddy profec spec b and tried to make 26psi...it couldn't do it it kept bleeding off. 3 weeks later I upgraded to an aem and wow...it even comes with a hi/low switch. Very smooth and great response & more power
