Boost Control...

I'm trying to redo my boost maps, and use the feedback control as well.

Does anyone have a rough overview of how to set it up properly with feedback control so it does not overshoot my boost in different weather conditions?

I've looked on the AEM forums and most the links they send you to are dead. I found one posted by Eric but I wasn't sure I liked the way it was said to go about it.

Take a screen shot of your current FB graph. It should be gradual. Also what boost solenoid are you using.

Start out with a very gradual graph.

Supra forums needs a password so I will re-post alphas info here.

Check Boost W/G Output and Boost W/G Invert. Set -0.00 and above to 50

Check Boost W/G Feedback and Boost FB VSS. Set Boost Target Speed table to the boost you want. Start with low numbers linearly on Boost Target Comp table. Keep moving them up until your target boost is reached. Once you hit the target boost. Move up to the next target boost. Do the same from that load up

The above is an example from an EVO 8. Made 22lbs with a PT-67RLH on an EVO with a 7.XXlb wastegate spring

in the pic above is it using "boost target comp" instead of "boost error duty" to regulate boost? in the AEM instructions they recomend using "boost error duty" which one is better?

ok, got it all working tonite.

Only thing I noticed, if you roll in from a high rpm, say like a 4-5k roll, the boost will overshoot.

i recomend getting your boost w/g duty map close.

limit the amount of boost fb +/- limit to ~10%.....

are you using your target boost map or are you soley just achieving boost based off of your duty map?

i am using the rpm/tps boost target method & I like it...i am also using teh oem ebc too!

i am too lazy to wire up my new gm solenoid

i recomend logging boost w/g out, boost w/g map & boost target to see what your boost fb is doing & to see where you need to tweak your duty map to hwlp reduce any boost overshoot from any rpm/tps position.

If you bought one that says AEM you can use hostile's one.. If you bought a MAC solenode then use mine. The MAC let more boost through. That why you need to start with a lower correction. Or you will have surge.
