Great thread! I have had issues since I installed the AEM EMS. I made 487WHP on AMS dyno with the stock ECU, and I ran .24 gap then. No issues besides the occasional misfie code. The car is an 03'. I then had an EMS installed, instantly noticed alot of misfiring at part thottle, and at high boost. And it didn't preform the same untill full boost. Still does it today.
I'm heading to get tuned in the middle of June and I have to drive 14-16 hours to get to a reputable shop. And when I'm there I don't have anytime to order parts and all that and I've been thinking of what He told me the last time he tuned the car, "You need another ignition system. You don't have any left." And I just looked at the map and it's still set on the base settings.
Thank god you guys figured this out. Very intuitive. This is why I think Evom users are the most involved and knowledgable import owners on the web. Thanks.
I'll post up logs as soon as I have them.

Thanks!

I have been experiencing misfiring at only 1 bar !

I'm running a power fc d-jetro but the dwell setting seem to be completely different than the aem, has anyone got any experience with power fc's dwell setting ? It might work here too

if I gap them down to 0.022-0.019 the plugs only last 2 days and it starts misfiring badly

I have had lots of questions about these settings here lately so I wanted to bump this thread to get it to show up on the list. I am still running strong on these settings with no issues.

Thanks for bumping the thread GTV, Imho it probably needs to be a sticky here in the AEM section.

I had mine set to 105 flat across and had little issue with it. I took it to be tuned and at 3200 he ramped it from 105 down to 65 @ 5600 and kept it flat to redline.

Now, I was running the wrong heat range plugs (stupid me forgot that NGK went UP for colder heat ranges and bought BPR7ES's) but at 26psi he told me the ignition was acting funky and that was about all it had in it. I put down 460 hp and 328 tq.

now, I've put int some BR8ES's gapped at .023 and turned the wick up to ~ 29psi. It's better with the colder plugs, but I think I'm going to pull the dwell settings back up to 105 all the way across with a 1.25 max tooth. Just figured I'd seek input before I did.

I take it your coils are still holding up just fine GTVEVO?

My coils are doing well, no issues at all. I would be guessing my car makes about 550 averagely to the wheels +/- depending on how much boost I run on my daily driving setting with 91 and meth/alky injection. Its tuned very safely and has been fine as far as the ignition coils go. Also I still run the stock heat range of plugs with or without alky/meth injection at no less than 24 psi. I don't see any reason to go up to a colder plug as any time I have tested a colder plug I made a few hp less and had less response. I think the stock heat range is 7.

Okie dokie.

so I tried the new settings of 105 across and 1.25 max and this was the result:

Same stretch of road. In the first run it was on the initial settings The IAT's were about 5 degrees cooler on the second run, but showed negligible effect when I tried it with the temp correction applied.

but yeah, it definitely felt smoother. I'd say it works quite well. I'm hopeful I won't have to go COP to be able to hit 39psi on E85.

Ok I read through almost 8 pages of threads and just want to know what is the fianl setting? I make around 700 WHP so is it possible to run a reliable setup at my level using stock evo 8 coils? If so what is the recommended EMS settings?
