A/C relay turning on/off...any ideas?
A/C relay turning on/off...any ideas?
Alright, when the ignition is ON, my A/C relay turns on/off constantly...which makes the a/c clutch engage/disengage when the ignition is on. VERY annoying clicking sound because of the constant engage/disengage. I've looked all over for some sort of settings i can change or adjust and haven't had any luck.
Anyone got any ideas? Please let me know.

it might be coinciding with the minimum rpm set in the software for the AC compressor to function if it is in an area in which the idle rpm sweeps through as you sit idling..
ex. if your idle rpm wavers between say 1100rpm and 1400rpm, and the minimum rpm for AC is set at 1250rpm, the AC compressor will kick on and off as your car idles since it is shut off under 1250rpm, and then kicked on again above 1250rpm.
Check this aspect of the software

That is a negative. My idle is steady 850, and it happens at any RPM. Also this happens with the A/C OFF. When I turn the A/C on, the relay stays on and the compressor functions normally.
What the temp out side. Mine does that when it's cold outside. When it hot it keep the compressor on all the time. Also if the system need charging it can kick on and off due to not enough R135a. AEM only triggers the switch.
It's only when I have the a/c off. It constantly kicks the compressor clutch solenoid on/off. When I turn on the a/c the clutch engages and the problem goes away, everything works fine.
When I get some time I'm going to try and adjust every little a/c input, and also mess with the ecu outputs (one being linked to the a/c). I'll update the thread if I figure the problem out.

It sounds like you have the defroster setting on. The knob that selects where the airflow goes, is it set all the way clockwise and also one back. That is the defrost setting. It cycles the ac. That is normal.

Well figured it all out, hopefully.
In the Evo 8 cal file, the a/c is set to input LS11. Under Configurations I unchecked "active" on the LS11 input. That stopped the clicking, and the a/c works normally. Hopefully I don't have any other problems associated with this, because it was horribly annoying.
