Why dont you do a pull logging knock how the car sits since you know it won't knock, then use the log to make a basic map of "normal/accepted" knock values?

So what's this have to do with anything?

Also, if you have your knock cal to a max of say 2 volts, then you do a pull and record say 4 volts on the log of your knock, is it really 6 volts (4+2 accepted) or is it 4?

When you log your Knock log

Knock #1 Raw (un filtered)
Knock #1 Volts

I always log both values.

I understand that much, but is the value displayed your total value or is it a subtracted value based on your knock map?

For example, if you log 4 volts of knock and your knock map makes 2v acceptable, do you really have 6v of knock or 4?

when you log the data it is the data. So 4v = 4v.

All the knock map does is tell the computer when to pull timing and add fuel based on your settings.

You knock map uses the knock #1 volts to decided what it needs to do.

So if you are at 5600rpm and your knock sensor cal table is at 3v, and when you are running your car and you see 4v @ 5600rpm, that means that you should use the Ign Control and Fuel Control tables to determine what do do.

So you just exceeded the cal by 1v, so you can look at your Knock Retard/Volt and that will tell you how many degrees of timing it will pull per 1v of knock that exceeds the Knock sensor cal table.

Same goes for the fuel control options.

Hope this helps.
