Wiring external fuel pressure sensor to AEM EMS

I'm going to be installing an AEM 0-100psi pressure sensor in my fuel rail to log fuel pressure.

I am wondering what are some of the available inputs on the AEM that I can
commandeer that are 0-5V that I can setup in the AEM to monitor fuel pressure. All of my emissions stuff is non-existant, so if any of that can take a 0-5V signal, I should be good.

Thanks,
Tim

Assuming you're running an Evo VIII, you could use either pin 61 (fuel tank diff pressure) or pin 79 (data link). Check out the 30-1313 instructions for more info. I tried to attach them but the file is too big.

You will need a 0-5v input that you can use. You will only be able to display raw voltage, so the data will not look good on AEM Pro. You can mess with the log to get the data to show up correctly.

Thanks guys.....yes I know I will only be able to see voltage....that's fine. Although, you would think AEM would allow you to make a user definable 2-d map to correspond voltage to pressure. **hint, hint, wink, wink**

So here's my thought. I cut the wire for pin 61 and wire the signal output from the pressure sensor into it. Is the sensor's main power wire 12V or 5V??

According to the installation instructions (http://forum.aempower.com/forum/inde....0;attach=4309), pin 61 is ADCR11 in the AEM.

So after the sensor is wired into the AEM, I add ADCR11 to the parameters section on the tuning screen and I should be able to log fuel pressure voltage.

Is this correct??

I'm personally not a big fan of cutting stock wiring so what I usually do is de-pin the OE terminal and add in a new one. We have a Plug-N-Pin kit available (AEM PN 35-2611).

Sensor wants 5v so it needs reference voltage, ground, and signal out to pin 61. Add in ADCR11 to your parameters list and log away.

I know this doesn't help you now but AEMTuner for our Series 2 EMS's can already rename parameters and it will eventually be able to internally convert analog voltage inputs into direct readings (psi, temp, etc). This is one of a very long list of changes and improvements coming in the somewhat near future.

Sounds good! Thanks for the help as I'm going to be trying to get this done tonight.

Boy do I like this information! I should be starting to tune a Supra on Series 2 next week and I am starting to set aside some money to get it for my Evo...
