Bad map sensor??

So the other day I had my car running and by chance lightly nudged the map sensor with my hand, which resulted in the car shutting off. I started the car up again and wiggled the connector on the map sensor lightly and the car shut off again. Clearly there is some sort of problem with either the sensor or the connector. Should I try replacing the connector first and see if that fixes my problem or is my map sensor most likely shot? For anyone wondering its an aem 5 bar map sensor with a barb fitting/ hose connection. Im thinking about mounting it to the intake manifold with an adaptor. Before I go out and spend $200 on a new map sensor should I try replacing the connctor first??

I normally start with the cheapest/most likely solution and work upwards in expense.

Open aempro, wiggle the sensor while watching the map reading.
