Automaping
Hey guys,
I know that the stock ECU tries to keep the A/F ratio cycling back and forth around stoich (14.62:1) With my base map setup from Buschur Racing I was running very rich at cruise (11.5:1 to 12:1) and I was getting crappy fuel mileage for obvious reasons. I did a couple hours of automaping today all in the zero boost area's of the map with a target A/F of 14:1. This is just a baseline to help my fuel mileage at this time.
Now, I am sure I can run 15:1 without a problem for low load (zero boost), but how far can I push it without danger and with good results? 15.5? More? Less?
I know that on pump gas I don't want to push more than 11.5:1 to 12:1 at high boost, but what about low to moderate boost?
Any help would be appreciated!
Keith

go as lean as possible without increasing the BSFC... that is, if you go from 15 to 15.5:1 and have to give it more gas pedal to hold the same speed then you need to go back.
personally i dont like using automapping. i can tune a car faster than the automapping can tune a car.

I set my target for 15:1 at cruise. I know that mapping on my own would work great, but I can't diddle with the laptop and drive at the same time
What about A/F target for low boost? I will be manually doing my boosted section of the A/F map, but I need to know if I can go leaner than 11.5:1 at the lower boost areas or if I should stick with the rich mix that I already have?
Thanks,
Keith
