Question Does the AEM EMS offer a timer feature?

I would like to have some sort of turbo timer installed now that I have lots of mods in my car. I wonder if the AEM has a feature like that built in?

Thanks

no the ems cant do that. it is impossible for the ems to have that function b/c you have to interupt the power at the ignition switch

The EMS has a turbo-timer function built-in that will keep running the engine after you turn the key off. The main trouble is that there is no real easy way to turn it off if you want to valet the car or something.

There are a couple parameters that control how the EMS deals with events after the key is turned off. In the 1.03i version however the main relay delay is fixed at 3 seconds, so that would turn the engine off no matter what at 3 seconds, but it is corrected on newer releases.

Go to Setup/Advanced Setup/Main Relay/Options. The parameter Main Relay Stop Eng would be the delay you want the engine to run for after you turn the key off. Note that the Main Relay Kill Pwr value must be set larger than the Stop Eng value, since the Mail Relay Kill Pwr function has the final word. If you set the Stop Eng to 60 seconds for example, but the Kill Pwr was at 10 seconds, the motor would turn off after 10 seconds since the whole fuel injection system and ECU will power down.

Note also that the maximum allowed value on the 1.03 version is 76.5 seconds. I haven't really looked at this value on the new betas.

I have it set for 20 seconds. Long enough to let things cool down a bit with the fans on high, but short enough that it won't cause too much trouble if I have to valet it or something.

That's neat info! thanks I'll look into it when I get my car back. I do have another question, if the existing versions don't have the proper injector type listed in the set ups, Is it possible to download patches or newer versions of the software? Partr of the problems that my car is showing might have to do with the RC 660 injectors I have. These are not listed in the injector setup for the battery offset.... They were set up for Denso 660 injectors, and those might not be equal to the RC injectors in some important ways.....

The newer versions have additional injectors listed. You can download the latest software from the EMS Forum.

I don't have a listing for the RC 660s, but here is the RC/Lucas 550 which should be reasonably close:

2550
1890
1460
1130
920
810
680
590
510
400
300
